There was a frank discussion about the naxal menace in
Keralam, in the TV channel.
One commentator insisted that the very approach of the
Government is deplorable. The naxalites are making inroads into the tribal
belt, because we neglected them. They have
no drinking water, no school, no medical facility and no welfare schemes. Instead spending
money for providing these basic facilities, the Government is spending money on
army, to fight the naxal menace, with no sign of any improvement in he
situation. I agree with this line of thinking.
But the Home Minister is still opposing it. The print media
too, seems to be shy of facing the truth
