RAJASTHAN ATOMIC POWER PLANT-LOCATION AND LANDSCAPE This is the first reactor of its type , using heavy water . It was designed and financed by Canada . They had agreed to train Indians. When the atomic bomb was exploded at Pokran, the Canadian Government withdrew their support and Indians completed the work. The plant is located 60 KM from Kota, in forest area, on the bank of the river Chambal. The State Government has built an earthen dam downstream. The water from the lake I used y the project. The area is hilly and offers wonderful, breath taking scenery , when viewed from the tp of the hill ,where a permanent town- ship has been constructed
