EARTHQUAKES

EARTHQUAKES ARE LMITED TO ASIA A belt from Japan to Afghanistan , covering China , India , are subjected to the ravages of earthquakes. There is no earthquake in Africa, America , Australia or Antarctica. Chile is an exception. South of the Vindhya ranges in India also experience only mild tremors. What is the explanation ? In my blog ‘pressure cooker model’, I have explained that quakes are caused by steam pressure. Like the caves in rocks we see , there are caves blow the surface filled with water , in the form of vapour . The Himalayan region is full of caves , comparatively near the surface. In the quake free areas , the caves may be deep down inside. The rock above the caves can be too thick and strong as to prevent earthquakes.
