ALL FOOLS DAY

SOME FOOLISH THOUGHTS ON ALL FOOLS DAY All people like to see a fool or to make a fool of someone, just for entertainment. In feudal days, there used to be Court fools. They always wear a cap, like the circus fool. Thus came the phrase ‘fool’s cap size’ (It is not fullscap size) There is a story about two sworn enemies. It was long ago. Both had gone to attend dinner in a temple. It was pitch dark . One of them had a sort of lamp, a glass half filled with oil and corked with a lid, through which threads were inserted. When he was walking to his home, the other fellow followed. “Do not come with me, in my lamp’s light.” But his enemy did not mind it. Enraged, he extinguished the lamp. Afterwards, both fell in the same pit and cursed themselves. I have posted an essay entitled ‘Man is the most foolish animal I the world’, somewhere in this blog. Other animals do not fight among themselves. We spend money in killing each other, while our brothren are starving.
