THE EYES
Human eyes have a unique quality. It can express emotions like joy, fear, sadness, anger etc. A girl can say:”I love you” by simply looking in the face of her lover.
Animals are afraid of our eyes; they always attack from behind. It is said that in the Sunderbans in Bengal, women going to collect woods , wear a mask with prominent eyes facing the back side. It is to scare the tigers.
The variety in the shape and colour of eyes is surprising. Chinese have eyes just like two slits. The actress Parvathy has the largest eyes . (the biggest animal, the elephant, has the smallest eyes)
Long eye lashes add to the charm . It is only a protection from rain water. Eye brows too have the same purpose.
The eye is a camera. The apple of the eye is the lens and retina is the plate where the image is recorded. This is transmitted to the brain by nerve cells.
Some people cannot see colours; they see all things either as black or as white. Others have night-blindness. They cannot see in twilight. Carrots are good for the eyes; it is rich in Vitamin A.
