MARRIAGE SHOUD BE OPTIONAL

TIME TO RETHINK

We take for granted everything in life, including marriage. The question, whether we should marry, never occurred to me.
I do not regret.
 But girls are not allowed the freedom to remain single, or else, they have to defy the parents. In India, where a number of people depend upon the salary of others, marriage becomes handy for survival. A HUSBAND IS A PERMANENT MEAL TICKET (I am only quoting). When Jarasandh was killed, 16000 women in his jail requested Krishna who killed him to marry them, and the poor fellow agreed. At least some of them would be useful, for a change!

 Most marriages are a failure, even though they do not go for divorce. I know of one family. They had never indulged in sex. At last they adopted a child. Acharya Kriplani and Sucheta (who was once the Chief minister of UP) loved each other, but Gandhi muthappan (a word meaning grand uncle) did not allow them to marry, thinking perhaps, that children would come in the way, as freedom struggle was the only aim in life for them. Foolish people. Had they come back alive, now, they will be shocked at  the mess we have made. At last, they got permission to marry, on the condition that sex would be avoided at any cost! Was Gandhi jealous?
My opinion is that live- in must be legalised, without limitation in the nnumber of persons admitted in a family. I shall explain.
A man and woman live together, without marriage. They have a friend, male or female, who stays with them, as a guest. If at any time, they feel that the person is useful, friendly and accommodative, why not that person be admitted as a member of the family? 

Where husband and wife are employed, there must be one to look after the family and kids. WHY NOT ADMIT AN EXTRA MEMBER?

Threesome is better than two, as three wheeler is more stable than bicycle. If one falls ill, the other two can manage the affairs. Draupaty is an example of how one can comfortably handle up to five husbands, but not 16000, a feat in the reverse direcion, which only Krishna, the great lover can accomplish. Do not feel offended, I am just joking.
 It is not necessary that the people should be of differenr sex. Same sex marriage is under active considration of the government, which behaves like Gandhi muthappan. A licence is needed even for such a purely personal matter as marriage, as if governmet is bound to feed the couple after marriage!
