STORY- TRAIN TRAVEL

I was traveling in the old first class compartment , still found in some trains. It was a coupe and I was alone. I was reading a novel, when a gentleman entered, with a lot of luggage. He looked glum and I wondered why he is so self-centered, not minding a beautiful maiden like me.
I forgot my manners and asked him:”Sir, why are you so gloomy?”
He looked up and remained silent for some time:”I am sorry to say that I failed to notice you. Indeed, I saw you, but it did not register in my mind, as I was totally distract, on account my loss a job in the Gulf”
“It is a common story these days. What were you doing there”
“I was a builder , being a Civil Engineer. My family is big, though I am unmarried. Now I am at a loss, do not know where to begin and how”
I felt a sympathy for this young guy, whom any girl will covet, his appearance and manners so pleasing that I feel in love at first glance. My father is a businessman and I could help him:”Sir, my name is Janu. I am working as teacher , though my father is a millionaire, because I don’t like to idle. Without appearing to be patronizing, I feel  I can help you; some how I like you.” It was then that he studied my countenance. “A drowning man will clutch a straw , hoping to remain floating. Please accept my sincere thanks in advance.” The ice was broken and we became friends in minutes. We described our younger days.
“I forgot to ask you-where are you going?”
“I was going home, with al this baggage. They will be totally disappointed, if they see me because I have not informed them about loss of job. Will it be premature, if I come with you?”
“On the contrary, it will be my wish come true.” So we got down at Coimbatore ; my  car was waiting there and I told the driver ,  to put his luggage in the dickie.
.We  sat in the back seat and the vehicle moved on. “Sir, you didn’t tell me your name.” “Oh my god, how did I become so insensitive? I am Vinu, short for Vinayan. Do not call me ‘Sir’.” We shook hands.”Is there anything you like to buy in the town? My house is a bit away from the city.” So we first went to the cloths market.  I paid the bill.
After taking bath, he changed into lunki and banyan . It was dinner time and father also joined. I introduced my friend to him.
After the meal, I showed him his room:”You must be tired; I shall come at tea time.” I spoke to my father about him:”Can we not help him to set up consultancy? His family will get relief. He has not told them about his coming home. That is why I brought him here.”
“Is it only philanthropy or ……….” “Oh, father, I shall tell at the right time”

That night, I remained in his room for a long time and sealed our love by a passionate kiss. Two days later, we all went to see his parents.
