SALTY SEA WATER

WHY IS SEA WATER SALTY? George Gamov was an eminent Scientist . He believed that rains carry salt from the rock mountains and deposit it in the sea . In other words , if there are no rains, the sea water will not become salty. He could not imagine that salt mountains are there in the oceans too But one question remains: will not this salt store saturate the sea water, like the ‘dead sea’? One reason may be , that the seas receive huge quantities of fresh water, each year, in the form of rains! Rain fall in the oceans may be ten times more than in land. What do you say?
