GLIMPSES OF THE PAST-A WONDER CALLED ISRAEL The Jews were persecuted by Hitler who kept them in concentration camps and tortured and killed many men and women. During and after the end of the war, they gravitated towards THE LAND OF THEIR ANCESTORS and fought against the desert and converted it into fertile land. If the Western powers ignored the new development , the Arabs and Jews could have lived like brothers. In 1948, they allowed the Jews to declare a new State called Israel, sowing the seeds of hatred and prolonged war between the two. In a way, now they (the Western Powers ) are paying the price of their policy- the Arabs have formed the IS. Ironically , Israel is a Socialist State. Industry is owned by the State.
