CHRISTIANS IN INDIA Christians came to Keralam , even before Christianity gained currency in Europe. They came through the sea route and spread in Travencore . They easily adopted Hindu customs . Today many Churches have the ‘sthamham’ (pillar) seen in front of Hindu temples . Many liked Hindu names . Their service in spreading education , both English and local Malayalam is remarkable . They went in tribal areas and educated the people who had no religion . In Nagaland , English is their Mother tongue! If in the process, many adopted their religion , we should not grudge. Their motto is service, most nurses are Christians . There never was a Christian-Hindu conflict. In contrast , Muslims retained rigorously, their customs . They use veils , go to ‘madrasa’ and spread violence everywhere. The IS terrorists belong to Muslims
