TILES Tile factories are facing crisis , because of shortage of clay. Clay can be made into any shape and pressed to make tiles. After it is burnt, it cannot be ground and reused , because the ‘glue’ disappears. Now granite is blasted and crushed . Mixing it with cement, bricks are made. If some binding chemical is invented , old tiles too can be crushed and reused. Will some one do it? In Englad , they are trying to make glass bricks for building houses. Glass tiles are made here also , but it is not popular . It may not be economical.
