FEUDALIASM VS CAPITALISM

FEUDALISM VS CAPITALISM When I was born, India was a feudal country, except for a few cities like Bombay, Madras and Calcutta. My Cochin State was ruled by a King. Ernakulam was a village. We had our own postal system. Anchalottakar used to carry letters in a bag and run to the next Anchal Office. There was no electricity, except in towns. Murder, rape, divorce etc. were unknown. Art and literature flourished under the patronage of feudal land lords. The artists did not have to worry about their livelihood. Kalidas could not have survived , if born in this age. Today a good painter will have to sell his works for survival. Guruji taught his pupils for the joy of teaching. He may accept some dakshina. Students respected and loved him. Same is the case with vaidyaji, who never accepted fees. Today , medical treatment is very costly and beyond the reach of common man. People pay lakhs of rupees for a seat in medical collage because they can earn ten times every month. Even wars were confined to soldiers. Civilians did not die of bombs and shelling. The cost of war too was much less. Which is better, the good old days or the present days of capitalism?
