IS KASARGOD FORT IN PRIVATE HANDS? Unlike in old Cochin State , the whole of Malabar was captured by the British and so all forts in that area are under Government control. It is now revealed that the fort at Kasargod is still in private hands. KPCC president Sudheeran has called for IMMEDIATE ACTION TO REGAIN THIS ANCIENT MONUMENT . It seems that the structure was hired to a private individual in 1903 and he is remitting revenue till now. The inheritors of it may not be aware of it even ; the lawyer is paying the dues. The District Collectors are the custodians of all government land and they should review all such cases , if necessary , BY CONSTITUTING A SPECIAL CELL FOR THIS PURPOSE.
