YEMEN AND INDIAN NURSES
Yamaraj is the God of death. His Kingdom Yemen is witnessing
the death dance. The IS forces are advancing and thousands of Indian nurses are
still trapped in the war zone. Now the air services, to evacuate them has been
stopped.
Nursing is the noblest of all professions. Because of the
huge demand, our women are learning this work and we can be proud of this fact. But have we
laws for regulating their service conditions and safety? The law makers remember
them only when there is a crisis. Their salary is pitiable, though they work
for eight hours, including night duty.
Living among the diseased, it is a wonder that they maintain
a smiling face always! Yet, many men may not like to marry them. There is a
misconception that they are not chaste. Living in extremely unfavourable
circumstances, I will not blame them, if they indulge in some joy and earn money
in the process. We must admit that almost all men are unfaithful to their
wives.
