Other actions like imprisoning his own father, are done by all those who love power. Ajatashatru jailed his own father Bimbisaran. Another reason, for jailing him, was Shah Jehan’s habit of spending lavishly and endlessly on building mansions. He wanted to make one more Taj Mahal! Otherwise, as an individual, Aurangazeb had some covetable qualities. He copied Quran and sold it, for making a living. Is there another example of an Emperor working for livelihood? He was chaste and led a religious life, while Akbar the Great was a womaniser. Had Akbar been in the throne in the seventeenth century, he would never have achieved anything. We must recognise good qualities in people whom we may not like.
