LORD AYYAPPA OF INDIA

Raja of Panthalathu was a powerful chieftain who virtually ruled the area in the district of Pathanamthitta in Keralam.
He saw a small boy while hunting in the forest and took him to the palace and brought him up like a prince. The queen too liked him as she had no issues.
Several years passed and a boy was born in the family. In due course the queen felt apprehensions about her own son. Being the eldest, will not the Raja appoint the adopted boy as Raja? She confabulated with the minister and they made a plot to get rid of the boy.
Accordingly, the queen feigned illness. The vaidyaji was called to examine her. He told the Raja that the queen would get well, if tigress’s milk was given to her.The Raja became very much upset. Who can milk a tigress?
The boy offered to help and set out into the forest. He insisted that none should accompany him.
The Raja fell unconscious, as he could not overcome his fears about the boy. But after some days, all were taken by surprise when they saw the boy coming back, riding a tigress!
After extracting the milk, he went back into the forest, on the animal’s back and was never seen afterwards.
Then, all realized that it was not an ordinary boy, but the incarnation of God.
A temple was constructed at the spot where he was spotted initially.
That is Lord Ayyappa worshipped by people all over India.
