FREEDOM STRUGGLE AFTER 15-8-1947

FREEDOM STRUGGLE DID NOT END AT MIDNIGHT OF AUGUST 15 On that fateful night of Aug 15, 1947, the area directly under British rule, became free but more then 600 Princely States remained under the control of autocratic ruler. Of these, Travancore was the worst specimen. There Ramakrishna Pilla, was editor of a paper called Swadeshabhimani, which received attention of the ruler, who was a staunch supporter of British rule. He expelled Ramakrishna Pilla from Travencore. After his time, the freedom fighter is known as Swadeshabhimani Ramakrishna Pilla! Communist revolt at Vayalar, which was crushed by shooting by machine gun fire, was in Travacore.
