QUARTER CROREPATHY
Her name is Dhanya, living in Calicut, aged thirty and
unmarried. She saw Vaikam Muhammad Bashir’s widow , and sought her blessings
before coming to Trivandrum , to participate in ‘Ningalkumakam kodeesharan’
Her extreme poverty and sheer grit drew our attention. Her
father was a fisherman. Her idea is to make a booth for him to sell lottery
tickets. Of course they wanted a house also.
She thought intelligently ,and took risks too, and managed
to reach Rs.25,00,000 One question was about a war which took place in the
seventeenth century, between Bamini and Vijayanagar empires. She chose the
correct answer Thalikotta, arguing that it is a kota or fort and other places
are just cities. She was right . I prayed that she must not do any more guess
work. Suresh Gopi was also very emotional and embraced her, when she walked off
triumphantly.
