THANIKUDAM TEMPLE
Posted on July 18, 2009 by waterfriend | Edit
Thanikudam Bhagavaty temple near Trichur is like any other temple in Kerala. What makes it remarkable, is the unique custom of conducting aaratu ritual when the deity is submerged in water . This time, the very first day of Karkidakam itself, water inundated the whole area, following continuous rain fall through out the State, and the aaratu ritual was held in rain
Local newspapers have shown photos of children merrily swimming in the temple court yard!
